from the charity 'Guiding people to advise on debts' allow local organizations
and community groups to facilitate the video workshop to inform volunteers
about what to do if someone comes to them with debt problems and how to manage
them
The two-hour
workshop covers such areas as the various causes of debt, how to respond when
someone reveals that they are in debt, refer someone to appropriate support and
the process of debt counseling.

mentions that many people are unaware that free debt counseling available to them and will often turn
to those in their community they know and trust, such as a caregiver, a
community leader or a key worker, in the First instance. Therefore, the new
materials will allow people in these positions to confidently help many more

Nine million
people in the United Kingdom are over indebted, and yet only 17 percent seek
