New Debt Advisor to Help Many More Access Free Debt Advice


The Free Debt Advice Trust, the charity that administers National Debtline, today launched a new set of free workshop materials designed to help community activists direct people struggling financially in their area to release their counseling services on debts problems.

The new materials from the charity 'Guiding people to advise on debts' allow local organizations and community groups to facilitate the video workshop to inform volunteers about what to do if someone comes to them with debt problems and how to manage them

The two-hour workshop covers such areas as the various causes of debt, how to respond when someone reveals that they are in debt, refer someone to appropriate support and the process of debt counseling.

The charity also mentions that many people are unaware that free debt counseling available to them and will often turn to those in their community they know and trust, such as a caregiver, a community leader or a key worker, in the First instance.
